Bin Laden Cell Phone Reveals Pakistan Intelligence Link
Bin Laden Phone Links to ISL
Information pulled from a mobile phone found at Osama bin Laden's compound has revealed what has already been widely suspected: a link between bin Laden and Pakistan's security apparatus.
Harakat-ul-Mujahedeen was part of Osama bin Laden's support network Pakistan. Harakat-ul-Mujahedeen is a militant group that operates in Kashmir, and has ties to the ISL, Pakistan's intelligence service.
The phone showed that bin Laden had ties to Harakat-ul-Mujahedeen, and that Harakat was in contact with the ISL, but it has not yet been proven that the Harakat-ISL connection was directly related to Osama bin Laden.
However, it sheds some light on how the most wanted man in the world was able to live so comfortably in an area populated by Pakistani military brass.
