Binangonan (Laguna Lake Overflow)

A short story when i got to be stranded in the province of Binangonan, Rizal where you can find and take a larger view of the laguna lake. As you will see in one of the pictures fishpen bamboos and anahaw post where all sunk in deep waters you can't even find the top of the "NIPA-HUT" in Pilipino they call it "KUBO". This is were the caretakers/fishpen operators stay to watch and monitor their fishpen businesses. Laguna lake overflowed the "FISHPORT AREA" called "PRITIL". Busy market area that used to be for vendors and vehicles to trade their businesses. Banca's used to be seen only at the laguna lake area. Unfortunately, when the Laguna Lake waters rise due to the high tide and continous rains which caused the lake waters to overflow, NOW, all those banca's can cross the WAITING SHED area, this used to be for passengers waiting area to ride a boat in going to their hometown barangays and to other barangays like Pipindan, Kalinawan, Talim Island etc.
Binangonan town is not flooded due to poor drainage system, this town is flooded due to the overflowing of the laguna lake that "HIT" the lake area where residences were forced to evacuate.

Hi Ysabelle,I'm a weekly visitor to Talim Island so I always pass by this pritil during early mornings and evenings.Grabe, it's so amazing to see the extent of the flooding. Dati hanggang unang kanto lang ito from the pritil (pre-Ondoy). But now it looks like I have to swim (again) in the lake (I had a leisurely swim in Talim Island four days before the tragic flood on Sept. 26 kasi ang tagal ng bangka pabalik sa bayan). Just wondering... abot ba ang baha hanggang simbahan and Jollibee?Eicchornia crassipes

hi, at this day, oct 5 the flood had already reached the church and really high. laguna lake has overflowed badly. we could hardly transport some bamboos to the laguna lake belt. a friend of ours has to have their fishpen repaired due to heavy waves brought by "ondoy". its really nice to hear from you. media has not reached or have not shown photos or issues about the over flowing of laguna lake. binangonan is really such a quiet and nice place to stay when you go to their islands kung saan mag banca ka talaga. thank you for your comments. ysa

Hi Ysa! I am planning to purchase a townhouse in St. Monique Valais in Binangonan Early next year. I have seen the town (pre-Ondoy) and it seems like a very nice place. But because of what happened to the province of Rizal recently I am worried that I might be putting my family at risk by moving there. Could you tell me if the flood waters reached St. Monique Valais? And would you recommend purchasing a property there? I don't want to ask the Real Estate Broker because I'm worried that I will not get the whole truth. I appreciate your help. Thanks.

hi rosso, thank you for reading my rush rush write up. st monique is far from the lake and the location is top hill. you have a good decision in asking querries about the are in binangonan. if you choose to buy a property in binangonan and if its in st moniaue valais then go! its such a nice place and location, it has an overlooking view, depends on where you stay. i suggest that you dont just buy in some other areas in binangonan coz most of the properties there are claimed by some people whom someone really owns it. they sell properties at a very low price kasi. most of the subdivisions are owned by a certain "guido" and it is being land grabbed by the residents and land is ruined by government officials and staffs used as their dummies. any querries, i wrote my email above. thank you again and more graces to you. ysabelle

Hi Ysa, Are you familiar with Mabuhay Homes 2000 in Binangonan? I'm planning to purchase a unit there. Is it affected by the flood caused by ONDOY few weeks ago? Thanks in advance.

JhunJheng hi, the place is located far from the lake its hilly, check if the place you are supposed to purchase is not near an area the causes landslides, there was an incident before "once" stay near the center that over looks the lake area.
