An Atlantic City Blackjack Player Won Nearly $6 Million in One Night at the Tropicana Casino and Resort
Somebody had a good night at the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City. The casino reported that one blackjack player won nearly $6 million in a night.
Who was the Blackjack player who won $5.8 million?
The casino did not reveal the identity of the blackjack player who won millions. Odds are, the blackjack player will keep a low profile for a while.
What Happened?
The Tropicana casino had recently set up high-stakes blackjack games as part of a new strategy to draw in gamblers. One night in April 2011, they ended up getting burned to the tune of almost $6 million.
Casino officials chalk up the loss to plain old bad luck.
"We had the single-largest winner in our history," Giannantonio said. "If it hadn't been for bad luck at the tables, we would have had a good month."
The $5.8 million blackjack winner marked another bit of misfortune for Atlantic City casinos. The city has struggled for the last three years or so. They haven's seen a month of positive growth since August 2008.
