The Republican-controlled Oklahoma House of Representatives passed a proposed constitutional amendment yesterday that would eliminate Affirmative Action in state government. Rep. Sally Kern, R-Oklahoma City, said minorities earn less than white people because they don’t work as hard and have less initiative. Kern also said that Kern said women earn less than men because “women usually don’t want to work as hard as a man.”

More evidence that the nation has a long, long, way to go on the learning curve. Give him a few more years when he becomes a minority himself and the population makes him work his ass off.

I don't know your point in posting this TheCameraObsura, but I responded because it is so outrageous that a U. S. Congress Representative would be permitted to be seated in Congress after clearly making abusive statements that undermine the US Constitution and laws against discrimination. I believe there are grounds for her impeachment.

My "point" is to report the news. As my story says, she is in the Oklahoma legislature, not in the U.S. Congress (although I'm sure she could win a seat in that as well, after all, wacky Michelle Bachmann did).
