Former Colts player arrested

Former Notre Dame quarterback Blair Kiel, 47, was arrested Saturday night for domestic battery charges. Blair Kiel was waiting outside of a restroom at Victory Field for his girlfriend Christy Rundle, 40. Witnesses reported that Rundle was in the restroom crying and refusing to come out. Kiel allegedly grabbed Rundle and scaring her into the restroom. Kiel became belligerent when Rundle came out of the restroom, and was asked to leave the stadium.

Blair Kiel allegedly ignored a police order and reportedly shoved the officer as he tried to escort him out. He "had a strong odor of alcoholic beverages, bloodshot and glassy eyes," police said.

After graduating from Notre Dame, Kiel bounced around on the fringes of three NFL rosters, the Canadian Football League and the Arena Football League before retiring in 1993.

He was released on bond Sunday. No phone number was listed in Kiel's name to reach him for comment.
