The US elections are on November 2, 2010, just over 2 weeks. What will be the biggest issues? 37 US Senators will be elected, 435 members of the house of representatives, 36 governors, hundreds of state legislators and mayors. In congress democrats hold 255 seats on the house and 59 in the senate. 218 and are needed for a majority.

Democrats have controlled congress for for years and Barack Obama has been president for almost two years. Their mantra all along has been former president George Bush is to blame for all current problems. Some democratic candidates have even said they do not support president Obama or house speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The economy is a mess. Unemployment is still around 10%. Americans are still being killed in Iraq. The Afghan war is twice as big and deadly as it was two years ago. Obama's popularity is less than 50%. The economy is not improving., The deficit is 3 times what it was under Bush.

Most people blame Obama and by extension, democrats. Of course some would vote democrat if Satan was the candidate. But most of the center and independents are turning against democrats. Republicans would need 37 house seats and 10 senate seats to take control of congress. As of now it seems they will gain control of the house and possibly the senate. If so president Obama will have major trouble getting any major legislation passed.

We will soon see.

I think reps will have about 210 house seats and 48 in the senate.

No repubs won't. thank you steel for being pro repub. You have encouraged me to hate a repub and tea party candidates and they won't win ever again.

Obama will only have problems with a Republican House or Senate if he continues his partisan approach to policy making. It will also force him to get out of the Left side of the bed he now occupies with the progressives. This will give the centrist a greater voice. Which in my opinion has been stifled under Obama's watch [Democrats jumping ship] and has contributed to the growing left-right polarization [the upsurge in the open borders agenda and Tea Party activism].

yes it will work too! It is only 20 months since the last election and his party and his family are in conspiracy to take over america and do it again. maybe the candidates don't think bush can be blamed but he is the blame. he's proud to be the blame cause he wants to do it agaain.
