NP Rank:
Blast Mars Pakistan Independence Day Celebrations
Will Pakistan's Independence Day bring a rash of suicide bombings?
Many long-time Now Public readers will recall that I provided extensive coverage of the assassination of Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, a courageous woman and leader. I hope she will be remembered on Pakistan's Independence Day.
Additional resources for those who like to read Pakistan's news from abroad: Now Public member Rumana Husain of Karachi, Pakistan, Pakistan Policy and Financial Times-Pakistan.
Thanks to Rumana for providing recent, on-scene photos from Pakistan.
Preparations for Pakistan's Independence Day celebrations have been shattered after a suicide bomber blew himself up and killed at least five people.
At least a dozen more were wounded in the blast outside a mosque in Lahore late on Wednesday.

Paschen, yes, I hope they do have a good, peaceful celebration. They've been through so much, and more hard times are at hand. Thanks for the flag!
And don't forget Rumana's contributions. :)
