It is always too early to quit, that is what is visible in case of Taliban. When the NATO force thinks the Game is about to be over, on that very moment they make you feel that it is just a beginning.
Last week is one of the most volatile week of Pakistan, Taliban attacked all targets that were presumed to be the safe one. Now they attacked the university. Reports says that seven people died in this suicide bombing incident.

At least four people have been killed and 18 wounded in bomb explosions at a university in the Pakistani capital Islamabad, officials say.

One unconfirmed report says up to seven people died in the blasts at the International Islamic University, including two suicide bombers.

The attack is the first since the Pakistani army began its offensive against militants in South Waziristan.

Pakistan was hit by a wave of bombings in the days before the assault began.

Security has been stepped up in recent days, and many schools in Islamabad and other big cities were told to close for the week.

Police superintendent Abdul Ghafar Quaiserani said two suicide bombers struck at the International Islamic University at about the same time.

The blasts hit the women's cafeteria and the Islamic law department.

One student, who e-mailed BBC News, said gunfire had preceded the explosions:

"There were gunshots at first and then two explosions one after the other. One was just outside the gate of the girls' cafeteria and the other one targeted the head of the department for Sharia studies.

"I was near that office. Two of my friends were injured, they were taken to the hospital. I am in shock. Now we are not even safe in our universities."

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani have condemned the blasts.

No group has as yet claimed responsibility.

The Associated Press says the International Islamic University was established on the outskirts of the city in the 1980s and has more than 12,000 students - nearly half of them women, many from abroad.

Update: Death toll rise to 8

Police said two near simultaneous explosions went off in the male and female campuses at the university in the city's east around 3:00 pm (0900 GMT).

"We have reports of two dead and 12 injured in both the attacks," senior police official Saqib Sultan told said at the scene of the attack, as paramedics rushing to the aid of bloodied students.

"Most probably these are suicide attacks," Sultan added.

The main hospital in Islamabad said earlier that a woman student in her early 20s was killed and 13 other people wounded.

"We shifted two dead bodies," Saif Abbasi, head of the university's sociology department, said. "I could not identify who the victims were as there was lot of smoke and noise," he said.

Gotta agree with you, these bastards are bastards in the truest sense, take the incident of today, no one could have expected this one to happen, and I mean NO ONE... b/c IIUI (International Islamic University, Islamabad) as the name suggests is Islamic in the truest sense... it's the largest non-coed university of Pakistan... the majority of student unions are somewhat Islamic... it was a common perception in Pakistan that Taliban's main targets include Army, Para-military, Law Enforcement Agencies... or if we talk about the civil sector then the liberal or secular elements... no one could have ever expected that they would attack IIUI as it doesn't falls in any of the categories stated above... which means that now everyone's susceptible... EVERYONE!

No one has yet claimed responsibility, Sara. It's quite strange b/c the previous suicide bombings had always been followed by a quick claim of responsibility from the TTP (Tehrik-e-Taliban, Pakistan), but this time they are silent. STRANGE INDEED!

No one has yet claimed responsibility for today's blasts, but the university's president, Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui, pointed the finger at the door of the Taliban, currently the target of a huge army operation in the lawless region of South Waziristan, on the Afghan border.
