An interesting grassroots initiative to get people talking.

There are no restrictions on what you can write, or the language that you can use. Really, anything that talks about Palestine, or the Palestinians; in the past, present, or future; political, social, economical, or any other aspect is welcomed. The goal of this event will be to share thoughts, and raise awareness about the Palestinian situation. Hopefully, with everyone’s support, this will be such a spectacular event that it will catch the eye of the mainstream media (specially that the Palestinian situation is inadequately and incorrectly represented in most of the western media outlets).

This is a good initiative.

mtippett, I like this story. It's good stuff. Main point start talking local business for vegetables, sharing water resources, open the gates to transport them to the ports. Install decentral community electricity on renewable energy base, give work to people. People hating each other will continue to make trouble, the economic perspective could however be contributed by the EU, if the paid infrastructure is under protection. Israel has technology and farming, can understand the difficulties to live with not yet much developped neighbours. First thing if the light bulb is not burning any more, then change it and don't start to talk religion if it should stay like this. A middle class initiative with the goal of $ 250 income for the destroyed areas could make the situation more stable. However both parties have to agree for economy talk. The past has no solution to transfer into 2010.

I attended the anti-war protest march from Trafalgar Square to Whitehall on March 16th 2008. A temporary stage was set up where speeches were given from Tony Benn and George Galloway, amongst others. This wee boy lives in the village of Bi'lin, Palestinian Occupied Territories, where, each Friday, there is a demonstration against the illegal removal of land from the Palestinian villagers. The IOF ( Israeli Occupying Forces) fire tear gas and rubber bullets at the villagers even though there are children in the village.

Up until the early 20th Century, Palestinian village (and city) women wore richly decorated, hand-crafted clothing.

The clothing themselves, along with the items (head-dress, jewellery etc) wore with them, played a great part in reflecting the region (e.g. Bethlehem, Jerusalem etc), economic status and marital status of the women.
