Bloody Hostage Drama At Manila
Early around 10:00am in the morning Aug 23, 2010 at Manila Grandstand near the US EMBASSY, there was a hostage drama. The "Hostage Taker" is a dismissed policeman Sr Insp. Mendoza of Southern Police District of Manila whose negotiating to lift the judgement against him as guilty for extortion.
Hostages were identified were tourists from China and Hongkong..The Hongkong governments issued released their press release and calling all their countrymen not to proceed Manila.

There was no immediate confirmation of any casualties in the standoff in Manila, however, several hostages could be seen getting out of the bus alive. The gunman has been killed by the police. The operation started with police firing on the bus' tires to immobilize it, then using hammers to smash windows, doors and windscreen. They were forced to withdraw after a series of hunshots rang out from inside the vehicle.
