BNP to consider allowing non-white members to join party

The British National Party (BNP) are planning to ask it's members if it can amend its constitution so it will not discriminate on grounds of race or religion.

The UK's equalities watchdog has told a court that the BNP broke these rules (Race Relations Act) and that they stick to only letting "indigenous Caucasian's" sign up.

According to its constitution, the BNP is "committed to stemming and reversing the tide of non-white immigration and to restoring, by legal changes, negotiation and consent the overwhelmingly white makeup of the British population that existed in Britain prior to 1948".

Now because of this, current BNP members will be asked to agree to the changes at a party meeting in November.

The UK's equalities watchdog had argued the BNP broke the Race Relations Act by restricting members to "indigenous Caucasian" people.

The court heard Mr Griffin had agreed to use "all reasonable endeavours" to revise its constitution.

BNP members will be asked to agree to the changes at a meeting in November.

Mr Griffin was not at the hearing at Central London County Court on Thursday morning.

Har-di-har!

All we need now is some enterprising black and asian people to try to join the party, get rejected, claim racial discrimination and shut the Nazis down as a political entity.

I'll second your idea... though Roy has a point too.

... But would you want to join the BNP if you aren't white?

(Actually, Colonel Boyle's idea is a pretty good one)

If you identify with being British first and foremost, you might join even if non-white. Values resonate.

This is so weird, as Jordan said, who would want to, and isn't that the platform that the BNP was built on? I guess they are trying to keep their 'party' alive, personally I think they should just be shut down.

Ha, never thought I would say it; lets all join the BNP. Then change them from the inside !

The Italian Fascist Party renounced fascism and the Italian Communist Party renounced communism, after which both became allies with parties that would never have been allied with them previously.

Who  wanted to join the formerly all-white, all Protestant country clubs and "cricket clubs" of Philadelphia when they changed the rules?

Lot of minorities.
