THE BNP are dominating the British Mensa Web Forums.  The forum is moderated but Mensa does not mind being used as a platform for the far-right self-proclaimed racists.

After the publication of the BNP Membership List recently, it has become apparent that there are several members on the list that claim to be Mensa members, including the most vocal, Larry Nunn and Raeto West who daily proselytize the racial hatred that has led to several members leaving in disgust.

BNP On The Rise Again I've only had one unwelcome telephone call since the list was posted. It was from a man with a mixed London/West Indian accent who began by telling me that he knows who I am and where I live, in the most menacing voice he could muster.

I replied "That's a coincidence! Because I know who I am and where I live also!"

The caller then started to berate me for being a racist[sic] and a fascist[sic] and we had an argument that part way through morphed into a conversation.

I told him that I was a nationalist and that nationalism was the right ideology for all peoples. I asked him if he had read any of Louis Farakan's speeches and he confessed that he didn't know who Louis Farakan is. I told him that Faraken is a Black Nationalist leader and that his teachings are not too different from what the BNP advocates (actually Farakan is significantly more extreme), it's nationalism but from a Black perspective.

I asked him if he had read any of the teachings of the Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC), you know, Barack Obama's favourite church, and I explained that TUCC advocate ethno-nationalism from a Black perspective.

I told the man that I don't harbour any ill-will towards individuals from the ethnic minorities but that multi-racial societies are intrinsically dysfunctional and I explained how originally homogenous societies become progressively more dysfunctional as they become increasingly multiracial. I explained that this was not because immigrants are inherently bad people, but because multiracial societies bring out the worst in people both black and white.

My caller responded by saying, and I quote, "Yeh, but if all Your people had given MY people more respect, we wouldn't have so many black youths running around shooting and stabbing each other like savages in the jungle". I reminded him that they were his words and NOT mine.

Essentially he was agreeing with me by stating that black people felt that they didn't have the 'respect' of white society. In reality what black people perceived as a lack of respect was their subconscious feelings that a predominantly white society was somehow alien to them and that they were somehow, out of place. Precisely the kind of feelings that can cause young people to grow up feeling alienated and resentful.

My caller eventually told me that he respected me. He said, " You're the tenth person on this list that I've telephoned tonight and everyone else either denied that they were BNP or hung up on me. But you admitted it and you argued your case and defended your corner. I respect that. I don't mind if someone is racist[sic] as long as they are honest about it. It's the people who are racist and deny it I can't stand, but I respect you!"

And with that he hung up.

My postman who is of mixed race and who knows about my role in the BNP, and who recognises me as an honest and honourable person, and who waves in greeting when we pass in the street, has delivered a considerable amount of mail to my door, none of which is in the slightest bit contaminated with doggy do.

My belief is that if you are rightious at heart, even if you fall in the sh1t, you'll still come up smelling of roses! :-)

This Mensa contribution seems to me to be perfectly reasonable and well-presented.

Which is more than can be said  for the bigoted and biased 'news story' which introduces it.

As a returning member  to Mensa who had let their membership lapse for a number of years, I was interested to find how the members web forums were carrying strong racist views.

The main thread was called ' BNP on the rise again' (Yet as we know the BNP vote is not larger than before, there were just fewer voters this time so extremists and freaks get a louder voice).

I have now had my access rights to all areas of the Mensa website revoked. (The moderators said I would only be suspended from the web forum section of the website, but perhaps as a result of 'too much IQ' they can't seem to work out how to do just that.

I have only posted messages along the lines that I find racists comedy figures, which I genuinely do. I just find their position and premisses to be hilarious, and when I gave some examples of this in the form of a few gentle jokes, I received a warning, and then a ban.

Clearly, in the minds of Mensan's......

a) you can't find humour in the ridiculous political positions some people strive for.

b) if you speak up you are made to shut up

My main assertion has been about how it is true that in many industries in Britain, without the immigrant population making up some large sized gaps in our labour force, many businesses would not be able to survive. In the last restaurant I worked at, for example, there was only one native Brit who came to see the chef about getting a job in 18months. And that was me. One of our restaurant suppliers, a small soft fruit farmer in East Lothian, would have gone bankrupt last year had he not have employed immigrants. He pays well over the odds and only enforces European working directives (less than 40 hours per week). The employees are allowed to work longer if they want, at an additional rate of overtime and his highest paid staff take home over £300 per week (all taxes paid properly). There are no people in his area who want to work for him, presumably because young people are more happy to draw the dole and play their computer games, thean they are trying to work to get somewhere.

The majority view of the Mensa membership who were willing to speak on this issue, appeared to not be working in these sorts of sectors, and perhaps are somewhat distanced from truths like these because of the fact they possibly work in 'more professional' industries.
