Boat explodes off Beer Can Island in Tampa: 7 injured

A boat exploded off Beer Can Island in Tampa this morning, near Apollo Beach, injuring seven people, six adults and one child.
All were flown by helicopters to Tampa General Hospital for treatment, and five other children were treated near the explosion for less severe injuries and then taken to the hospital.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission also is investigating.
