A boat carrying Haitian migrants overtruned and sank off the Coast of Turks and Caicos Islands.  The U.S. Coast Guard reports that at least two people are dead and 85 are missing.

The boat reportedly struck a reef at around 2 p.m. Monday, as it tried to elude police.

113 people were rescued after they were found stranded on two reefs.

40 of them were found on a reef that is three kilometres southeast of West Caicos Island.

"Our main goal right now is just to get everybody out of the water and get medical attention for those who need it," said Petty Officer Third Class Sabrina Elgammal, another Coast Guard spokesperson.

When is it going to stop? Everywhere is facing difficult times right now. Why make thing harder on someone else’s country. It’s so sad. Hope they find everyone who’s missing.

i'm not sure how i feel about migrants travelling and jumping the queue to get into a country illegaly.....is the answer to give their country more money, aid to help these people..I hope that they can choose to remain in their country of origin and to have a good life there..but i fear that is not going to happen.  We saw a lot of "boat people" a few years ago and i wonder if this is the tip of the iceberg again...i'm glad that they were saved...ty for the post acp

The money ankle has been tried.  Unfortunately, a lot of that money never reaches where it could be used best.
