Boat volunteers

Mozambique Red Cross boat volunteer Pascoa Joaquim, 26, reputedly the only woman in the village who can swim, stands in the prow of her MRC aquatic-rescue launch during training. Mozambican marines and MRC volunteers have been taking advantage of an apparent break in the rains upstream in the Buzi river system to hone their aquatic-rescue skills.
