The body thought to belong to a missing Sunrise Propane Industrial Gases employee was found late Monday evening. Police have not identified the body yet, however an employee was apparently missing from the propane facility after it exploded early Monday morning.

Giant gouts of flame burst into the sky after the facility exploded in the early morning hours Monday. No one was hurt but at least 13,000 residents were evacuated from the North-end neighbourhood for most of the day.

Previous NowPublic coverage:

Police are evacuating homes in the area of Keele and Wilson after a number of explosions were heard at 3:45AM this morning. Residents say the explosions appear to have occurred at a propane depot.

Mayor David Miller and the provincial safety regulator were pointing fingers at each other yesterday over who had responsibility in authorizing a propane company to operate across the street from private residences, even though the cause of the blasts that rocked a whole Toronto neighbourhood hadn't been determined.

The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating the early-morning explosion and fire that led to the evacuation of thousands of residents of a north-end neighbourhood and closed Canada's busiest highway, the 401, for most of the day.

Authorities discovered a body late Monday at a Toronto propane depot where a series of massive explosions occurred over the weekend, but have not confirmed whether it is that of a missing employee.

The body was found around 7 p.m. ET at Sunrise Propane Industrial Gases in the city's northwest end, Toronto police said in a release.
