Cargo Boeing 707 plane belonging to Sudan Azza Air crashed in the desert in the United Arab Emirates. All six crew members have been declared dead. The plane crashed shortly after takeoff in an unpopulated area close to the Sharjah airport. The plane was bound for Sudan. The cause of the crash remains unknown. The black boxes have already been recovered and the investigation is under way. Boeing 707 was developed in the 1950s and is an older plane model.

The cause of the crash is still undetermined. The Sudanese air fleet is outdated and the government says spare parts are not available due to economic sanctions imposed by Washington.

Sudan, Africa's largest country, has a poor aviation safety record and many small airlines that crisscross its sprawling terrain.
