Bolivia: President Evo Morales calls on vote for reunion and reconciliation tomorrow

In a message tonight and prior to the recall referendum tomorrow, Bolivian President Evo Morales asked 4.047.686 Bolivians to participate and vote for national reunion and reconciliation. The recall referendum is an initiative of the Bolivian oppositon that will show its effects tomorrow as Bolivians would decide the political fate of imcumbent President, the Vice-president and eight Prefects.
La Paz, August, 9, (ABI).-Today, President Morales stated that people’s vote would take the Bolivians and their authorities to reunion and reconciliation after the repeal referendum to take place tomorrow.
"These votes will take us and even force us to have a reunion among authorities and reconciliation among the Bolivians. That’s why; everyone’s participation plays an important role." Morales pointed out at Palacio Quemado.
In that sense, Morales called the Bolivians to vote calmly at this referendum and to turn this event into a democratic celebration.
Besides that, he said this referendum was historic since this was the first time people would decide authorities’ term of office continuity. Therefore he explained that this referendum became an instrument that would strengthen democracy in Bolivia.
Tomorrow 4.047.686 Bolivians will decide term of office’s continuity of the President, the Vice-president and eight Prefects .

Evo Morales is the first indigenous person ever to hold an executive office in Bolivia. He won his office despite the financing and support the CIA and the US State Department gave to his opponent. This referendum has been forced on him by an opposition comprised of the 'Old Guard', the formerly privileged class, in an effort to undo the reforms Morales has begun.
The results of this referendum has great and wide-ranging significance on the whole of South America.
