A bomb exploded earlier today in Greece, near the Athens Parliament building the the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. No one was hurt in the bomb blast thankfully.

Someone placed a call to a national newspaper about 17 minutes before the bomb went off, warning that a bomb had been planted. Police were able to seal off the area so that no one was injured, but according to the Greek media, the Unknown Soldier honor guard refused to leave his post even though he was warned about the bomb.

The explosive device was placed in a waste bin near the tomb.

According to the Washington Post:

Several extremist left-wing groups operate in Greece, and they often plant bombs targeting businesses, government offices and banks. The bombs are usually planted late at night or preceded by warning calls and rarely cause any casualties.
