Boy, 14, charged with murder of backpacker Karen Aim

A 14-year-old youth has appeared in court in New Zealand charged with the murder and aggravated robbery of backpacker Karen Aim from Orkney.

Miss Aim, 26, was found dying early on January 17, in the North Island lakeside resort of Taupo.

A court in nearby Rotorua has today remanded the youth to be held in a youth justice facility.

A hearing has been set for April 15.
