Boy Dies in Unilever's 'Clear Men' Reality Show Due To Negligence
[Aarpix News Exclusive] KARACHI - In their quest to produce a western kind of thrilling and adventurous reality show, Poor and substandard arrangements have become the reason of the killing of a boy Saad Khan. Victim’s cousin Mansoor Khan told Aarpix.
Saad Khan lost his life in the recording of the show when the host Amina Sheikh (the model of Clear Shampoo) gave an under water challenge to him. The boy lost his control and shouted for help but the lame safety and lifeline measures failed to rescue him up and the young man, the father of four had to suffer.
The blame straight goes to the producers of the show which are Unilever and Mindshare for hiring such a sub standard team and the cheap arrangements that became the cause of death of the boy. For now, the mainstream media has rejected to air any such news as they get a fair amount of advertising business from Unilever. And spokespersons of these two companies have been shamelessly calling the incident a mere accident.
Mansoor Khan, the cousin of the victim demands that “ALL CONCERNED PEOPLE OF UNILEVER & MINDSHARE MUST BE PUT BEHIND BARS.”
Mansoor doesn’t want you people to boycott Unilever Products, all he wants is that the culprits who gambled with the life of the participant must be brought to the court of justice.

See its stuff like this that really bothers me. I don't care about advertising but I think it is absolutely ridiculous when advertising gets in the way of reporting a news story. Stations that are refusing to air this story should be ashamed of themselves and step up to the plate.

The team behind the production was Indian. Naved Arshed was the production consultant.

Something I don't get quite clearly from this report is whether it was a boy who died? Or a man who is quoted as 'father of four'?

If this is true, then it's really shameful. Also, where is Geo TV now, when it's needed the most. They always appear to be the first on the scene when ANY sort of incident happens, but guess even they don't want to publicise this for fear of Unilever pulling out their adverts from Geo.

Yes, he was a boy, old enough to be called a man and indeed a Brave Man, full of Life!

Well...it is very tragic and the most unfortunate part is that no channel would report it and do a story on this incident. GEO, ARY, DUNYA, XPRESS are all a bunch of losers who would care shit about such incidents...their owners need money from these corporates. And i am sure that they must have signed a stupid document or something with the participants which would have a fine print somewhere that they are doing everything at their own risk :( How pathetic....let me tell all the people out there...they are doing a great job in spreading the word...i feel so sorry for the family whose loved one is no more with them just because of some stupid reality show and its pathetic, miserable, non professional team, which includes the stupid Brand Manager along with all the staff of Broadmind(Mindshare). they must be prosecuted for it because it is not an accident...it is sheer negligence... As far as every one's hope regarding the channels covering this story..please do not have high hopes cause GEO is actually JEW, which is written as GEO and Xpress..hmm...Lakhani Sb has his own figures to work on...Dunya is too new a baby to stand up infront of Group M ...so please condemn all these News...ooops NUISANCE channels who are just there for nuisance and not real issues!.. My condolences to the berieved family..I hope GOD gives them Sabr...cause that is the only thing left for them. My CURSE for the people involved in all of this incident.....

We will wait for a while and see how unilever responds to it. If they did go the legal way and did not bear their social responsibility we will start a boycott their products campagin against them by making comics on each of their products and making spoof ads of each of their products to help build the awareness and aid the boycott.a small glimpse can be seen in the link below. paksatire.com/2009/08/29/unilever-mindshare-clear-reality-show-becomes-cruelty-show/

Reality show is not something that we condemn, but the professional execution is lacking there. reality shows are the part of new wave of media accross the board. this is realy a very sad story but there is a need of professional execution companies. However should behave responsibly and be vigilant at the time of hiring team.

What are these reality shows? Think about it!!! this is a type of prostitution! you sell your body, and honor for money.. its like some one who eats snakes in circus ... a human used for entertainment ... some times they eat worms and chick sht in these reality shows .. no respect of a human being ... what have we become?....and what are the things that entertain us? seriously think about it!!! People who watch reality shows are also responsible for death of Mr saad ... Don't be part of any thing where humans are exploited for money because that is just like aiding prostitution ... respect humans!!!
