Boys aged 10 charged with raping eight-year-old

So now we come down to this, 10 year olds raping 8 year olds.

What has happened since I was 10?

I didn't know a damn thing about sex at that age, let alone have an urge that was so important I had to satisfy it at at such a cost.

Two 10-year-old boys have been charged with raping a girl in west London.

Each faces two counts of attacking a female under the age of 13 following advice from the Crown Prosecution Service, the Metropolitan Police said.

They were arrested after an eight-year-old alleged she had been assaulted while playing in a park off College Way, Hayes, on 27 October.

The pair, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are due to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

Police were called by the girl's family after she returned home from the park.

Officers from the specialist Sapphire Unit, which investigates allegations of rape and sexual assault, have been dealing with the case.

Should we put it down to TV, films, computer games? They trot all that out every time there is a violent crime, but we had violent crime before the access that children, or adults - come to that - have now.

I don't know why it is happening (a 12 year old was charged with raping his teacher about 4 years ago, so it's hardly brand new) but I do know that society has some serious needs it has to address in order to protect children......I've known that for a long time, but I thought the problems stemmed from perverted adults, to hit the realisation that their peers can be just as dangerous is just awful.

Yes, but what happened to the peers?      Kids as young as 5 get sexually abused by adults. Kids even younger than that. These, perpetrators, were almost certainly abused themselves. I hope all three get treated as children.

I hope all three get treated as children.

I certainly hope that the little girl manages to get over this, and carry on and regain/maintain her sense of childhood (she was aware that what had happened was wrong, that was why she sought help from her parents I would assume), for the boys, whether they were abused or not, I just hope they get the help they need to grow up without screwing up an older girl/womans' life like this. It's impossible, without knowing their backgrounds, to ascribe reasons or excuses for their behaviour. I do know that - in my mind - at any age - their is no excuse for this behaviour.

This is seriously sick

Sadly many children do know, through no fault of their own. They need to be punished no doubt about that, should somebody have spotted whatever happened to them ?

Just as a footnote, My 16 year old daughter said to me after reading this..."they ram sex education into all kids heads from really young now, kids can watch almost anything on the TV, on programs like CSI, and lots of the soaps, all it all does is teach them what to do"

I do know that at that age I was ignorant, blissfully so...more interested in how Chelsea were doing in the league, and whether my latest air creation would fly. But I didn't have access to the stuff kids do now - but my children have had that access....so why aren't they like that? I still think that a lot has changed in the way, speed and age children think and develope.

By the sounds of things your children had decent parents to help them make sense of things. Need to have a proper watershed again too.
