Brazil to build 60 Nuclear Energy generators in the next 50 years

Brazil currently has 3 nuclear generators and is able to produce the entire tech cicle for manufacturing the nuclear combustible. Now Edison Lobão, Lula's Minning and Energy ministry, have annunced the Brazilian plan to build 60 Nuclear Energy generators in the next 50 years. The total of megawatts to be produced is 60 mil megawatts.

O Brasil planeja construir cerca de 60 usinas nucleares - além de Angra 3 e das quatro previstas no planejamento energético do governo -, com uma capacidade total de 60 mil megawatts (MW), nos próximos 50 anos. O anúncio foi feito, nesta sexta-feira, pelo ministro de Minas e Energia, Edison Lobão, após visitar as usinas nucleares Angra 1 e 2 e o canteiro de obras onde será construída Angra 3
O ministro Edison Lobão (Minas e Energia) afirmou nesta sexta-feira que o governo pretende ampliar o programa nuclear brasileiro. Segundo ele, além da construção da Usina de Angra 3, o governo planeja fazer pelo menos 60 novas usinas nos próximos 50 anos, que devem totalizar 50 mil megawatts a mais de energia nuclear na matriz energética.

I do not like that idea at all. We all need to get away from that energy as much as well need to get away from Oil as well.

that is a helluva lot of Nuclear power plants! Does he plan to supply power to the whole world? the whole continent? or is he just being 'grandiose'?

Brazil has huge reserves of uranium and is mining it. Government has also a yellow cake facture in Resende and has closed the erichment cicle about 10 years ago. I am not sure if the enrichment is made now in commercial scale, but yes, Brazil has dominium of the entire cicle.
