Brazil not worried about Venezuela-Russia military exercises

The maneuvers to be conducted by the Navies of Russia and Venezuela ending this month in the Caribbean are not the big issue for Brazil, said on Wednesday Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs Celso Amorim.  "We are not worried at all by these military exercises. Russia and Venezuela are two fellow countries and this it not particularly a matter of concern for Brazil," Amorim told reporters.  The Russian and Venezuelan Navies have plans to conduct joint military exercises ending this month in the Caribbean, with the participation of nuclear-powered missile cruiser Peter the Great.  The events will run concomitantly with the visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to the region, on November 22-27, where he will take part in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC), before going to Brazil, Venezuela and Cuba, reported the Kremlin last Sunday.
