The escalation of the international financial crisis caused Brazil to have a net capital outflow of 7.15 billion U.S. dollars in November, the country's Central Bank said Wednesday.

The figure was a surge from the 4.6 billion dollar outflow registered in October and the highest since January 1999, when Brazil had a net capital outflow of 8.5 billion dollars.

In the first 11 months of 2008, Brazil had an accumulated net capital inflow of only 5.3 billion dollars, down 93 percent from the 82 billion dollars registered in the same period last year
