The ruling coalition in Pakistan faces imminent threat of break up as the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), which is leading the coalition government, doing everything except fulfilling the major demands of the second largest party in the National Assembly, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The party of Sharif has three major demands, including impeachment of President Pervez Musharraf, reinstatement of nearly 60 judges of superior courts who were removed when they refused to take oath of allegiance to Musharraf when he imposed state of emergency in the country on November 3 last year in his capacity as chief of the army staff and removal of the sitting judges who had taken oath of allegiance to Musharraf.
