A small explosion, reportedly unrelated to production, injured two workers at a chemical plant in spooner, Wis. on Tuesday afternoon.

An explosion at a US chemical plant in the state of Wisconsin has injured two workers, officials say.
The plant, in the town of Spooner in the north-west of the state, is owned by Cortec Corporation.
Cortec Vice-President Anna Vignetti described the blast as "a small explosion unrelated to production".
At least two people are hospitalized following a chemical plant explosion in northwestern Wisconsin.
A spokeswoman for the plant's owner, Cortec Corporation, says 2 of an estimated eight workers at the facility in Spooner suffered what are belived to have been first- or second-degree burns. They have been transfered from the local hospital to other health facilities.
The plant, which makes aerosols and paint solvents, has been evacuated and emergency workers have cordoned off a two-block area.
Officials said during a press conference on Tuesday that there were no fatalities in the incident.
Authorities have blocked off the area around the plant and as many as 50 to 75 homes have been evacuated.
People from nearby residences and businesses have been temporarily moved to a makeshift shelter at the local National Guard Armory.
Traffic on Highway 63 near the plant has been averted to County Highway B and U.S. Highway 53.
