BREAKING NEWS: Dalai Lama has 'given up' Says campaign for more Tibetan autonomy fruitless
Barry Artiste Op/Ed
China 1-Tibet 0 - Canada 1. A sad game in which many in the world were hoping for a better outcome.
A small consulation is in 2007 Canada's Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the people of Canada, bestowed Canadian Citizenship on the Dalai Lama, so the Religious Leader is stateless no more and has a Canadian home to come to.
In the 50 or so years Tibet has fought the good fight, for naught. As the Dragon douses the flames of freedom for Tibet, as is par for the course in anything the Dragon tramples on.

Dalai Lama has 'given up' Says campaign for more Tibetan autonomy fruitless
By ASHWINI BHATIA, THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
DHARMSALA, India -- The Dalai Lama said yesterday he has given up on efforts to persuade Beijing to allow greater autonomy for Tibet under Chinese rule.
The Tibetan spiritual leader said he would now ask the Tibetan people to decide how to take the dialogue forward.
China has repeatedly accused the Dalai Lama of leading a campaign to split Tibet from the rest of the country.
The Dalai Lama has denied the allegations, saying he is only seeking greater autonomy for the Himalayan region to protect its unique Buddhist culture -- a policy he calls the "middle way." "I have been sincerely pursuing the middle way approach in dealing with China for a long time now but there hasn't been any positive response from the Chinese side," he said yesterday in Dharmsala, the north Indian town that is home to Tibet's government-in-exile. "As far as I'm concerned I have given up," he said.

Glad I read that, I thought it was going to say he'd given up on life since he was in such poor health lately

Thanks Jordan and Master Jim for your comments and visiting, certainly Canada as a home if he chooses is better than globe trotting as you say Jim, he is in poor health and should settle down.

The ancient libraries have been placed in 'safe' mode and are impervious to discovery. Tibet is no longer the depository. When this present insanity has run its course the libraries will be awaiting re-energizing.
