According to the BBC News Online Ticker, ZANU-PF concluded that it will back Mugabe in a run off election. My fears is that this run off election could be used to silence the opposition via violent means and would be marked by fraud of greater proportion. Mugabe and ZANU-PF must not be allowed to get away with committing any more injustice. I am saying this after seeing photos of Zimbabwe and film clips from ZBC.

AlvarezGalloso, just came in

HARARE (AFP) — Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe will definitely contest a presidential election run-off after failing to defeat his opposition rival in the first round, a senior party official said Friday.

Once you start arresting journalists there are big problem

Two foreign journalists, one from the New York Times and the other from the London's Sunday Telegraph were arrested late Thursday on charges of working in Zimbabwe without accreditation.

In addition, three pro-democracy activists from the United States were reportedly being detained. A western diplomat said Friday that the whereabouts of one of them, a staff member of the National Democratic Institute arrested at Harare airport, are not known.

HARARE (AFP) - Zimbabwe's attorney general has concluded that there is no case against two foreign journalists who were arrested for operating without accreditation, their lawyer said on Friday.

Thank You Jordan, Vinny, and Politisite for your comments and contributions. Mugabe wants a run off election. I will attempt to do a special coverage of the second round elections but there is still the problem of the previous results that have not been published. There has also been the report by the BBC News Online Website in which ZANU-PF has been calling for recounts of 16 seats lost and the "War Veterans" who supported Mugabe possibly marching through cities with the attempts to intimidate the voters. On the other hand, while ZANU-PF has endorsed Mugabe, there are still members within the ZANU-PF Party who want change. When there is more news, it will be reported to Now Public.

According to the Zimbabwe Independent, there is the possibility of extending the cancellation of football [soccer] matches until the elections are resolved.
