Inspired by Ms. Miriam Mannak, the underwriter decided to investigate the webpage: http://www.iol.co.za. The result was a breaking news story from Zimbabwe. A Court in Zimbabwe has decided to drop charges against the MDC General Secretary Tendai Biti.

The charges that were dropped were those related to "insulting the President" and "causing disaffection in the Armed Forces". Regardless, Mr. Biti still has the charges of "treason" and "making statements to cause a public disorder" pending. Mr. Biti has been accused of attempting to rig the last Presidential Elections in Zimbabwe in which the punishment is the death penalty. While charges have been dropped, it is important that the world exerts pressure on Mugabe to withdraw the other two charges. Whether Mr. Mugabe will do that remains to be seen.
