Last week, two McCain staffers resigned after it was reportedthat they had performed extensive lobbying on behalf of the Burmesejunta. However, Doug Goodyear and Doug Davenport are the not the onlylobbyists on McCain’s campaign staff with ties to unsavoryinternational figures.

Three otherlobbyists, Charlie Black, Tom Loeffler, and Peter Madigan, and theirfirms’ clients, have generated at least $3.5 million in campaigndonations to Sen. McCain over his career, according to Campaign MoneyWatch analysis of campaign finance data provided by the nonpartisanCenter for Responsive Politics (hyperlink: www.opensecrets.org). DCIGroup, which employed Davenport and Goodyear, and their clientsprovided less than a quarter as much campaign money -- $817,685 — toMcCain’s elections.

Source? Right now there's nothing here to support your headline, which is an opinion.

Sorry, I assumed when using the highlighter tool it automatically saved the source.  I have included one New York Times article and a petition circulating for McCain to stop his illegal funding.

There's nothing Highlighted here, just a copy and paste. Check out the Newsroom for help with tips and how-to's. Good luck.

I did use the highlighter tool that I installed on my browser to share this news.  It does ask to give a summary (which I admit I copied and pasted), but it never saves the source.  I have looked on the tips and how-to's to see if I couldn't find an answer, but found none.  I'll check again in case I may have missed it.

If you're having problems with Highlight, submit a bug report in the Forum.

See the little chain icon in the edit boxes? You can click on that to add a link into text.

Your headline is inflammatory, and is opinion that isn't supported by your actual text and resources. Good idea: review some work by others, especially say, the top 10 on the Leaderboard, to get an idea of how they do things.

If I wrote a headline like OBAMA'S LINKS TO GENOCIDAL AFRICA AND RACE-BAITING, JEW-HATING AMERICA-HATERS REVEALED, that would get flagged, and justly so. Therefore, after all this conversation, I'm adding the flag to yours. Please review the materials in the Newsroom for NP standards and how'to's. Flaming, baiting, and inflammatory materials just don't sell well around here; we're unique in that.

ESKCSG, I think your story has potential but needs some improvement. I've got a few suggestions, and if you give them a try, I'd be happy to remove this flag.

I wasnt sure what was newsworthy in this story. News should always be about posting current stuff - new things you've discovered.

Please review What Makes News News. It can really help if you follow the old "W5" news formula -- making sure you have answered the questions: Who? What? Where? When? And Why? (You might want to check out our J-Tips for more help.)
