Bristol Palin Promotes Abstinence, Stars In Teen Pregnancy Ad
Bristol Palin Stars In The Candie's Foundation Anti-Teen Pregnancy Campaign Ad
A new ad featuring Bristol Palin, the daughter of former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, starts off with Bristol Palin holding her son Tripp in her arms in a lavish attic saying, "What if I did not come from a famous family? What if I did not have all their support? What if I did not have all these opportunities?" Than the ad backdrop suddenly changes to a much less sumptuous one with Palin dressed in simple tee and jeans, finishing off by saying, "Believe me, it would not be pretty. Pause before you play."
The ad was commissioned by the Candie's Foundation that claims to reach to millions of teens each year with high-profile media campaigns that encourage the delay of pregnancy and challenge America’s youth to make healthy decisions about sex.
Bristol Palin is a single teen mother who got pregnant at 17 smack in the middle of her mother's vice presidential campaign. Palin was supposed to marry her than 18-year-old boyfriend and father of the child Levi Johnston, but the two separated in March of 2009.
Now, Bristol Palin is trying to advocate for abstinence and calls parenting a "24-hour job with a huge responsibility." She says Tripp is a blessing, but insists that her priorities changed completely with the birth of her son. Bristol Palin openly admits that she would have preferred to have had her baby later in life. Palin started advocating for abstinence in 2009, saying it is a harder choice that she did not make, but it is a "realistic," 100% proof way to avoid getting pregnant.

The United States has the highest teen pregnancy rate in the industrialized world. Abstinence only 'policies' are not working. Although admirable of Ms. Palin, ALL teens need to be taught age-appropriate safe sex education which includes methods for pregnancy prevention aside from abstinence.

Abstinence only policies work only when there is a real faith in young people and a belief that they can actually abstain. Unfortunately, in the US, as elsewhere in the world, people seem to have given up on believing in the youth and their ability to make the right choices. At the end of the day, it becomes harder to abstain when no one really expects you too.

So you became a star from getting pregnant at 17. Shes a perfect role model for teens. I wouldnt want my daughters to idolized her.
I cant want until 2016 to see what this world would be like.
I would love to Palin become president for 2012, so we can complain what the mess she made this world. If there is the tomorrow.
