NP Rank:
In Britain, It's A Repeat of the 'Josef Fritzl' Case
So far, 2008 has been quite an interesting year for all sorts of news events. Just when there is at least one news event that can take the entire cake, another news event emerges and takes a bite out of that very same cake. This year, much has happened in the world. When you combine all the events going on, it makes 2008 a very interesting year.
One such interesting a horrific event was in Austria with the case of Josef Fritzl. A dark and sinister secret was discovered back in April of 2008. It was a secret that would shock the entire world let alone shock most of Austria. Fritzl had imprisoned his daughter Elisabeth for twenty-four years.
Elisabeth was eighteen when she was imprisoned. Fritzl had repeatedly raped her. Elisabeth ended up having children. One infant had died. But, this heinous secret was uncovered when 19-year-old Kerstiin Fritzl was admitted to the hospital after falling into an artificial coma. The hospital got suspicious after running tests on Kerstin.
Natascha Kampusch, another Austrian girl and victim of captivity, had harsh words to say to Josef Fritzl. Kampusch was imprisoned for about eight years.
So far, Josef is behind bars on numerous charges ranging from rape, incest, slavery, etc. However, he is set to stand trial in 2009 for the death of their infant child. Prosecutors charge that Fritzl did not intervene while knowing about the infant’s life-threatening situation.
While behind bars, he has received his fair share of hate mail and love letters.
In Britain, it is déjà vu. According to CNN, a similar case has emerged. It is revealed that a British man had raped two of his daughters for twenty-seven years. Like the Fritzl case, both daughters became pregnant. Nine children were born; but, two of them died. There were also five miscarriages and five terminations.
Unfortunately for the children, they are plagued and cursed with genetic deformities.
So far, neither the father nor the two daughters have been named. But, it is revealed that the father is 56 years old. According the judge, he could serve at least nineteen and a half years in prison.
Authorities were told about this back in June. However, the rape was going on ever since 1981. This is similar to the rape of Elisabeth Fritzl. There is only a three year difference between the duration of the repeated rapes.
In the case of the two daughters, they were physically harmed instead of being imprisoned. Both daughters explained that their father would beat them if they refused.
Combine that case and the Josef Fritzl case, 2008 could be known as the year of incest-related stories.
Like Fritzl, maybe this person will receive his fair share of love letters and hate mail.

So very sad, and shameful that Social Services didn't uncover it earlier.

Personally, I think he deserves 1,000 life sentences and then some.

So much for the British CULTURE. The sooner this culture of filth is eliminated the better. I hope your culture of rape and incest gets ou a slow painful death.

at least nineteen and a half years in prison suggests the possibility/question of being released... is this fair? i dont think so.the courts need to seriously consider the implications of this, on public authorities and the public in general, but specifically in lieu of his two daughters- in my opinion, the man deserves to be locked in a hell-hole for the rest of his life
