NP Rank:
Britain reaches top of the most violent country list
Britain is the most violent country in Europe according to reports from European Commission and United states.
Britain got a higher rank than United States of America and even South Africa.
The released results also shows that UK has described highest overall crime and robbery rate in the EU, the homicide rate is higher than in most of Western European countries and burglary rate is in fourth place but the absolute number of burglaries pops-up in first place.
Experts say there are a number of reasons why violence is soaring in the UK. But Police Minister David Hanson said: 'These figures are misleading. Levels of police recorded crime statistics from different countries are simply not comparable since they are affected by many factors, for example the recording of violent crime in other countries may not include behavior that we would categorize as violent crime.
The league of shame:
1. UK
2. Austria
3. South Africa
4. Sweden
5. Belgium

I am surprised to see Sweden in the top five.
And Canada is in as number six and France as number ten.

I'm not surprised about the UK at all I have to say; someone even got stabbed at the end of my street when I was living there.
I'm not surprised by Canada either being in the top 10, as all these recent gang shootings have really upped our crime rate here.

I am surprised at South Africa not being at the top. They seem to pull out a gun at the drop of a hat. These stats don't make any sense. If the UK was so dangerous, there'd be curfews at night and shops would have bars, and police would often be hanging round.
