1,000 British criminals could not be accounted for, including murderers, pedophiles and sex offenders.

National Offender Management Services said 935 offenders, who also include rapists and others convicted of serious crimes, should have been sent back to jail after having their probation revoked, the BBC reported Monday. They had been freed from prisons in England and Wales between January 1999 and this past March.

In May 2008, The Philippines Bureau of Immigration hunted five British pedophiles hiding in the country.

Commissioner Marcelino Libanan disclosed that among those in the bureau’s wanted list are Kriss McCord, Barry Raymond Edwards, Robert Donaghy, Desmond Graham Kelly, and Paul Francis Gadd, all of whom are suspected pedophiles wanted here and abroad for sexually molesting children.

In October 2008, the Bureau arrested 39-year-old Richard Holden, at his residence along Boulevard Avenue, in Dumaguete City.

THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Wednesday announced the arrest of a suspected British pedophile that had allegedly victimized several young girls in the province of Negros Oriental.

BI Intelligence agents apprehended the Briton, 39-year-old Richard Holden, at his residence along Boulevard Avenue, in Dumaguete City on October 16.

Holden, who is now detained at the Immigration detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig City was arrested on the basis of a mission order issued by Immigration Commissioner Marcelino Libanan.

Confiscated from the suspect upon his arrest was a compact disc (CD) containing pictures and video footages of his sexual intercourse with his victims.

Members of the arresting team also reported that Holden had refused to present his passport or immigration documents to the arresting agents.

In a statement released Wednesday, Libanan said he issued the mission order following reports that the suspect had impregnated four Filipina girls during his two-year stay in the country.

BI Intelligence Chief, Faizal Hussin, said Holden allegedly enticed his female victims to have sex with him with promises of financial support, which he did not honor after the girls got pregnant.

Hussin added that Holden was frequently seen stalking young girls in parks, schools and shopping malls and also secretly taking pictures of them.
