After a 17-month old baby was found dead and battered, two men have been found guilty of killing the child. The child's mother has already been found guilty.

Two men have been found guilty of causing the death of a 17-month-old boy in north London.

Jason Owen, 36, from Bromley, and a 32-year-old who cannot be named had denied killing the child who suffered a series of injuries, including a broken back.

The boy's mother had pleaded guilty to causing the death of a child, who was seen 60 times by social workers.

The Victoria Climbie Foundation said: "This case is worse than Climbie. The signs were there but not followed."

Both men were found not guilty of the child's murder or manslaughter at the Old Bailey.

Dave, The killing of Children and children killing other children seems to be getting worse by the day.  Since guns have been with us (especially in America) since we were children (I am 46)  what is different?  I do not remember media as it stands today but I am not sure what the precipitating events are that has increased the violence.  Thanks for bring this story although I am getting weary of hearing similar stories almost everyday
