there are different latin inscriptions on the pound coins.
one consideration supported by some people is, that, if the british pound disappears and England converts to Euro, the European Union might become too powerful.
yet the british pound still exists, while it is uncertain for how long.

In my opinion, the EU is again seeking to enlarge its influence, as nothing less than an unelected dictatorship.Democracy is unknown to them.Losing the Pound Sterling would signal the end of the UK as we know it.The weak government we have,has not the backbone to hold out for our best interest against them.
