British soldiers in Afghanistan have undertaken a dangerous mission and managed to outsmart the Taliban in order to deliver turbines. The operation was the biggest "route clearance" mission for British troops since World War II. 1,600 troops shifted mines and guarded a 200- vehicle convoy.

British troops have completed one of their most heroic missions since the Second World War by outfoxing the Taliban.

The five day mission to provide essential equipment for a dam in central Afghanistan has drawn comparisons with the 1944 Battle of Arnhem and Mad Max.

Operation Tsuka was the biggest British mission since the Afghan invasion in 2001. British forces transported 220 tonnes of essential turbines to the Kajaki Dam over 100 miles of some of the most hostile and mined terrain in the country.
