The Wednesday lockdown of all Broward Count, Florida schools has been lifted. Early on Wednesday police received a "credible threat" facing schools in Broward County, the sixth largest school district in the United States.

Nadine Drew, a spokeswoman for Broward County Schools, said no criminal activity took place on any school campus and the lockdown was precautionary.``Lockdown has been lifted at dismissal,'' said Pembroke Pines Police Sgt. John Gazzano. ``All afterschool activities have been suspended with the exception of elementary school aftercare.'' Gazzano said police were continuing to investigate the threat.
