The BJP C.M. candidate for Delhi, Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra said that the BRT Corridor in its present form would be scrapped. Prof. Malhotra has said that one of the most serious problems that has been lately gnawing at the nerves of the Delhiites is the logjam of transport and the traffic snarls on the roads in the capital. It is mystifying that even when the citizens were already reeling under the inadequacy of transport availability, the Chief Minister, Smt. Sheila Dikshit thought of compounding their wows by introducing the BRT corridor in an important area of New Delhi. Even an illiterate person is aware that the road conditions in the capital are totally different from those prevailing in some of the developed countries. Inspite of that this white elephant of BRT corridor has been introduced, thereby increasing the headaches of the people, because of the inordinate delays it has been causing to the travelling public. They have to wait for quite long in that corridor to get the green signal and there have been instances of the people missing their flights because of getting late to reach the airport.
