Update: May 27th

The search for Bruce O'Krepki ended on Tuesday night. There are eyewitness who report seeing  a  teenager jumping off the cruise ship Sunday night.

After an exhaustive search effort to find Bruce O'Krepki, the difficult decision to suspend search was made.

Our deepest condolences to his family and friends. May they be filled with the Lord's peace that goes beyond any understanding.

A search plane, helicopter and Coast Guard are searching for O'Krepki who recently graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School where he ran track and played soccer.
Family and friends were gathered at church in Hammond La. praying for his rescue.

The Coast Guard was searching Gulf of Mexico waters Monday for an 18-year-old recent high school graduate from Louisiana who fell overboard from a cruise ship.

Bruce O'Krepki went over the rails off the Carnival Fantasy at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday, about 150 miles southwest of Tampa, the Coast Guard said. The Coast Guard said late Monday it would continue the search overnight.

Why did he do this I wonder? So he jumped off the ship? This is so sad, that's never the answer.

I was on this boat with my daughter, and some of her friends for their Senior trip.  It was so sad knowing that this happened on our trip.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.   I cannot imagine how this must feel.
