911 tapes released in Brunswick murder of eight people

One of the injured victims from the mass murder at a mobile home in Brunswick, GA. is dead. Now 8 people were killed, and the sole survivor is still in critical condition at a Savannah hospital. Michael Toler, 19-year-old who was rescued from the scene, had died at a Savannah hospital on Sunday.

Police have arrested one man, the 22-year old Guy Heinze Jr. who reported the incident in a frantic 9-1-1 call, screaming, "my whole family is dead." He was charged with tampering with evidence and illegal possession of prescription drugs and marijuana. Police are not calling him a suspect at this point but are not ruling him out either. Heinze said among the victims are his father, uncle and cousins.

Heinze said, among the dead are his father, uncle, and cousins. He pleads with 9-1-1 operators to send help for a survivor who was still breathing but whose face was "smashed in."

A $25,000 reward is being offered for information. Doering says, "we need help."  Police acknowledge they don't know if the killer is still out there, and urge residents to be cautious.

Police refuse to disclose more information, and only give ambiguous statements:

Police said Sunday they have "no known suspects" in the case. "We are not looking for any known suspects," Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering said. "That doesn't say that there are no suspects. They're just not known to us."
Doering said Sunday police believe at least one person not in custody may have information in the case. Authorities have not released the victims' identities, waiting for them to be positively confirmed through autopsies, which began Sunday in Savannah, Georgia. However, Doering has said the victims range in age from children through mid-40s.

Brunswick, Georgia is about 113 kilometers south of Savannah.

The municipality is located in southeastern Georgia on a harbor on the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 30 miles (50 km) north of Florida.

I absolutly do not understand how one man could have killed all of these people, unless they were drugged, drunk and past out,or were all sleeping so soundly they did not hear anything. You would resonably think that the older men and guys would have stopped this rampage if they were awake and knew what was going on.This is horrable, and this needs more news coverage. This is what America is coming too, this younger generation that has no sense at all, they dont care about anything but, themselves.Horrid, just horrid..A Nebraska reader..

Why won't they say HOW they were killed? You know that the whole town that attended the funeral services know, but they won't release it to the media? I just can't help wondering how they all died...

I used to live in Brunswick...

Appearently the police all thought it was shotgun wounds.. to the face.  But the son that was arrested said that they had been beaten to death.  That is what clued them in on it being him.
