The kidnap and brutal killing of the cute girl Vaishnavi in Vijayawada moved thousands of families to tears, though they were neither neighbors nor the relatives of the girl. Every one is grieving over the tragedy at the brutality of the perpetrators who not only killed the driver of the Vehicle in which the girl was travelling and strangulated the little girl within minutes of kidnap. The brutality has not stopped there. They took the body to an automobile workshop and burnt her to ashes in the burner meant for melting the metal. It is only with the help of a diamond ring in the burner that the police identified the remains as that of the girl. On hearing this tragic news, the father of the girl suffered heart attack and slipped into coma before he too died. The whole city and also several people from other places too joined to pray homage to the girl and her father. The TV channels extensively covered the tragedy and repeatedly played the clippings of the girl’s recent birthday function which moved many families to tears. It is said that the motive of the perpetrators was greed and hatred. In a rare gesture the Chief Minister of the State too announced that a fast track court will be set up to bring the criminals to justice soon. In India justice is often delayed and in such dastardly crimes, unless those involved are punished within a time frame, the anger of the people is bound to grow.

While death by hanging is rarely resorted to now a days, such criminals need to be punished by hanging till death in public to warn people with such dangerous tendencies of what fate awaits such criminals.
