Bryan Stow Beating: New Arrests and Slow Recovery
Louie Sanchez, Marvin Norwood, Dorene Sanchez Arrested in Bryan Stow Beating
Bryan Stow, the San Francisco Giants fan who was nearly beaten to death on March 31 while attending the LA Dodgers' home opener, seems to be recovering after undergoing emergency brain surgery earlier this week.
Bryan Stow was able to open and close his eyes on command, and move his finger and thumb. His family is cautiously optimistic.
Meanwhile, new arrests have been made, and the already-tenuous case against Giovanni Ramirez has collapsed.
Louie Alex Sanchez, 29, and Marvin Eugene Norwood, 30, live just houses apart from each other in Rialto. A woman, Dorene Sanchez, 31, was also arrested as an accessory in the crime. She is the sister of Louie Alex Sanchez and the girlfriend of Norwood. Authorities said that a woman was seen driving the vehicle the suspects got into after the attack.
Giovanni Ramirez, arrested after a police sketch was made public and prompted his parole officer to turn him in, will likely be exonerated, though he remains in custody on a parole violation. His family is furious, blaming the LAPD for screwing up the case.
