Juan Jose Padilla endured this pain Oct. 7, 2011 Juan Jose Padilla is on the road to recovery after a terrifying gorging during a bullfight at the annual Virgen del Pilar festivities in Zaragoza according to NewsVine. The bull, named Marques, weighs 508 kilograms (1,120 pounds). Fox News reports that surgeons had to use titanium plates and mesh to reconstruct parts of his facial bone structure and eye socket, the doctors said in a signed statement.

"I can't see, I can't see anything," the matador shouted as he was rushed to emergency facilities at Zaragoza's Misericordia bullring before being driven to the city's Miguel Servet Hospital for surgery.

Juan Jose Padilla, 39 suffered eye, bone, muscle and skin damage when he was pinned by the bull and gored. MSNBC reports that T.V. footage shows when the bull's left horn ripped into Padilla's jaw and emerged beside his protruding eyeball as the fans yelled in horror. Footage also showed Padilla getting up and his face gushing blood as the bullring assistants distracted the bull.
