Bundelkhand Ekikrit Party

Today Bundelkhand region of central India is the most backward area in the country.In spite of having much natural resources,this region remained always neglected by administration and by the govts. of India as well as govt of UP and MP.
To fight against the problems of bundelkhand 'Bundelkhand Ekikrit Party' was formed in december 2006. At that time few hundreds people combined to form this group. Later on thousands of bundelkhandee men and women joined the party.The party activist worked there on ground level.They tried to go door to door during drought to arrange food and other minimum requirements by forming 'self supporting groups'

Since central govt. and state govts. of UP and MP are not serious about the problem of bundelkhand so Bundelkhand Ekikrit Party is demanding its own statehood for bundelkhand.

In april 2008 party became a political party in leadership of Mr. Sanjay Pandey and then applied to election commission of India for its registration.Now 'Bundelkhand Ekikrit Party' is registered political party of India.

Some memorable efforts made by the party

1)DHARNA and PRADARSHAN at Delhi and Lucknow

Many times the party activists sat on Dharna in front of Indian Parliament as well as at Vidhan Bhawan Lucknow.In demand of separate state party often arranges heavy 'demonstrations' starting from village level to national level. A demonstration on 4th december 07 at Jantar Mantar Delhi impressed UPA govt and later on Rahul Gandhi visited there.

2)Distributed food-grains

In january 08 the party made a research for extreamely poor farmers of bundelkhand which were feeling defeated themselves by starvation.The party not only provided them food and minimum requirements but also motivated them to fight against that calamity. In other words we can say the party tried to create positive environment. In Mahoba district party distributed 50 Kg wheat grains per family below poverty line.Smt. Sukhrani a villager of village Mohari district Mahoba says,' That day we had not a single grain of wheat when the party members entered my house and gave us a bag containing 50 Kg wheat, now Ican say that party gave us a new chance to live our lives'

3)Addopted marriages of daughters of drought effected farmers

Four year drought in bundelkhand caused death of many farmers.Actually some of them had committed suicide and some of passed away due to starvation. The party announced to take responsibility to bear all expenditure being done in the marriage of daughters of such drought effected farmers.Devideen Ahirwar a a farmer of village Pachara of Mahoba says,'My mother had passed away due to hunger ,I was highly enxious to think about the marriage of my 22 yr old daughter Suman, I used to commit suicide because I felt myself fully defeated by poverty, but when I heard that the marriage of Suman had been addopted by Bundelkhand Ekikrit Party, the moment was happiest of my life.

4)BUNDELKHAND 'BANDH '

Within one year, Bundelkhand Ekikrit Party braught this movement of bundelkhand state on full swing but even that govt. did not take any serious step towards implementation of the demand. So in July 08 party appealed one day 'Bundelkhand -Bandh' aginst the unclear policies of central govt. & UP govt. on bundelkhand issue. On the day of ' Bandh' i.e. 29 th JULY 08, the citizens of bundelkhand region of UP fully supported the bandh.The trade unions and labour unions openly supported the Bandh.All business activities were stopped in symbolic way to raise the movement higher.
