Truemorsjune 19th 07. the 62nd birthday of daw aung san suu kyi, the elected leader of the people of burma, held under house arrest in rangoon. like gandhi and martin luther king, suu kyi is a nonviolent civil rights campaigner, and the only public symbol of hope for the people of burma. here in london we marked her birthday with a protest outside downing street and the burmese embassy. long live aung san suu kyi, may peace and liberty one day come to burma.
