The heart of "The Sudcalifornianos" is in pain. Violence is reaching our beautiful peaceful state. Alarm, concern, fear and anger spreads through the population as they become aware of what has happened in Cabo San Lucas just two hours away from the city of La Paz Baja California Sur. It offers no consolation to natives to know that worse things are happening in Mexico and around the world.
A major gun-battle took place past night in Cabo San Lucas Prisas Pacifico area (general/near Sorianas) between Mexican military and assumed narco trafficantes. Out inside source (CSL city government personal) informed us that the shot-out lasted about 4 hours from 23:00hr to 3:00 am. One soldier dead, one kidnapper dead and 2 police seriously injured.
After a gun fight and a persecution that took place at Los Venados, Codepa and Brisas del Pacifico.A command armed with AK-47 rifles took refuge inside a shopping mall, 600 people are reported to have been inside at the moment.According to reports 200 people are presumed to have been held as hostages.
The public opinion at the moment said there had been more shots around the city and there were rumors that information was being withheld due to economic and political interests.
