Cairo bazaar - Dec 28, 2008 - 52a

This was one of the larger "main" streets of the bazaar, as we drove past in our bus, heading back to the hotel. As you can see, it's packed with people, as far as the eye can see....

Full disclosure: I photoshopped the sky in the background; it was a dull, hazy gray in the original, and I thought the photo needed a little bit more color...

After we visited the Citadel and the Alabaster mosque, we drove to the ancient bazaar of Cairo -- and spent a couple of hours walking through the crowded streets, listening to the frenzied sales pitches of merchants along the way, and stopping for lunch at a nice restaurant in the middle of the bazaar...
