Cambodian military have agreed that they will release 13 captured Thai troops from the fighting near the Preah Vinear temple.
The release was agreed upon today at a meeting between the two sides near the temple.
They also agreed to not increase troop numbers along the border, as tempers continue to climb over the disputed region.
A Thai military spokesman says little headway was made on withdrawing troops from a number of disputed border areas.
The Phnom Penh Post says senior military officials will meet again in Siem Reap on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Thai Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat says he will seek face-to-face talks with Cambodia's leader Hun Sen to try to ease the growing border conflict.
Speaking after visiting Thai troops along the border, Mr. Somchai said the two leaders should have an opportunity to talk.
He echoed Mr. Hun Sen's comments on Friday that outside mediation was not needed to resolve the dispute.
